How Do I Arrange A Consultation?

At present, to make arrangements for a consultation, telephone reception from 8.00am (Holyhead) and 9.00am (Bodedern) and they will place you on the call-back list. It is then up to the Clinician whether you have a face to face appointment and the Clinician will arrange this for you.

How Do I Make An Appointment?

Whilst it is impossible to operate appointments system which suits everyone, we believe that our current system provides patients with flexibility to see a doctor wherever possible and ensures that patients who contact the surgery with an urgent medical problem are guaranteed to be seen on the same day. If you require a non-urgent appointment, you can also email our enquiries email address.

Urgent Appointments

The need for an urgent appointment is defined as a medical problem which cannot wait. If you require an urgent appointment please contact reception. You may be asked for a brief detail of your problem - this is to assess if you need to see an ANP or a doctor or whether you could be directed to Choose Pharmacy. If you have a suspected urine infection the receptionist will advise you to bring a urine sample with you to the appointment.

Any child under the age of 16 who presents with an acute problem, will immediately be put either on the Advanced Nurse Practitioner's list for a face to face appointment or on the Duty Doctor's list for a call back initially.

Urgent appointments are available for booking from 8.00am. All our doctors take turns to cover the duty doctor post. However, we cannot confirm which doctor will be on duty then.

Please telephone:

Holyhead 01407 762713 See our opening hours
Bodedern 01407 740242

If you are unable to attend an appointment, please inform us as soon as possible by either calling the surgery or by completing this form.

Sick Children

Children will always be seen as soon as possible if brought to the surgery (this may be quicker than a home visit). If you are in doubt about bringing your child out, please telephone the surgery first and the doctor can advise. A child that is acutely unwell will always been seen on the same day.

How Do I Obtain Telephone Advice?

If you wish to speak to a doctor by telephone, please contact the surgery as soon as you can in the morning. The reception team will then pass the message to the relevant GP. The doctor, however is unlikely to respond to any telephone message until approximately lunchtime depending on their workload. If you need to speak to a doctor urgently, please tell the receptionist and provide her with details in order that your call can be passed to the right person.

The experienced nurses on duty at NHS Direct also give advice 24 hours a day and are contactable on 111.
